Project Overview

Western North Carolina Technology Consortium

The WNC Technology Consortium was established in August of 2000 by the presidents of the twelve westernmost North Carolina community colleges to promote technology and economic development in their respective service areas. The Consortium has been responsible for overseeing the E-commerce Development Project and is presently considering other similar projects.

E-commerce Development Project Overview

The E-commerce Development Project began in August of 2000 for the purpose of linking the twelve Western North Carolina community colleges to share technology and educational resources and to provide training for the faculty and staff of each institution. This E-commerce project has been particularly important to the economic growth of Western North Carolina due to the rural nature of the area served by the twelve community colleges. E-commerce provides an abundance of opportunities for economic growth throughout this region.
In order for this program to provide maximum benefits to all of the participating colleges and to the region, we need your input and participation. It is through our joint efforts that the best ideas, techniques, and programs can be developed and implemented assuring the desired economic growth of all of Western North Carolina. The E-commerce program is here to assist you. Please feel free contact us with comments, questions, or suggestions. We welcome your input!
